E-work: Gaza Bridge from Dependency to Production (2020-2022)
GGateway awarded a grant for E-work project ” within the emergency Gaza project – cash for work and support for freelancing implemented by the NGO development Center & funded from the World Bank in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, and the Ministry Social Development, the Ministry of Labor and the Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection.The project has two major components to be implemented on 2 rounds (8 months/round):
- Youth E-work Empowerment Training: Two months extensive technical & life skills training for 360 beneficiary (age from 18 to 34) in three areas
- Technical Skills training
- Freelancing Platforms & Employability skills
- Freelancing Business Technical Writing in English
- Freelancing Hosting Phase:
– 6 months hosting for all 360 beneficiaries in co-working hosting spaces. GGateway GHUB as co-working space will provides ICT professionals in Gaza with micro work remote employment environment & opportunities through variant services such as IT infrastructure, office space, HR Management, client & payment management services & match marketing services .
Following to the 5-weeks training program, the top 80 achievers during the training period were hosted inside GGateway’s co-working space (GHub) for three months. During the three months of hosting, beneficiaries received technical and freelancing mentoring from in-house coaches, in addition to specialized career-path counseling. The hosted beneficiaries had access to dedicated workspaces, in addition to online learning resources based on their specific needs.
UNDP: E-work Project (2018-2019)
Under Immediate Support to Gazan Resilience through Rapid Employment Project Funded by United Nations Development Program (UNDP). GGateway implemented a 5-weeks training program that targeted 170 graduates, during which beneficiaries were prepared to start working as freelancers.
The training program structure included 2 weeks of technical training, 2 weeks of online freelancing training, and one week of employability skills training. The technical training focused on six main areas (1- WordPress Development, 2- React Native (Mobile), 3- Digital Marketing, 4- Graphic Design, and 5- Translation 6- Web Frontend – Angular JS).

Basque IV- Empowering ICT female graduates (Freelancing & Outsourcing) (2017)
The Technical Training opportunities for ICT female Graduates are implemented with generous contribution from “Basque Agency for Development cooperation” to respond to the female ICT graduates’ unemployment rate by providing a comprehensive capacity building trainings that respond to the IT graduates’ need in order to be employable in the IT outsourcing and freelancing markets to strengthen the female refugee capabilities to increase and enhance their livelihood opportunities.
Activity 1 – Forming a comprehensive Building Capacity Curriculum for GGateway services (Outsourcing and Freelancing)
GGateway formed one comprehensive employability curriculum and two technical curriculums each material covers a one month training.
Activity 2- Establishing GGateway Building Capacity Lab and related resources:
GGateway established a fully equipped, well-furnished and user-friendly computer lab (building capacity unit). Computer lab was fully equipped with required resources to service training needs. The Computer lab had been opened to Basque IV graduates from 8:00AM–4:00PM along the project implementation even after the end of the training.
Activity 3 – Provision of Building Capacity Program for Outsourcing Business to female ICT graduates
Based on the results of the selection process, 29 ICT female graduates started the building capacity training program that included three components divided as follows: 22 days Technical Training, 11 days employability training, 11 days English Language training
Trainees were required to enhance their skills through LinkedIn online learning platform using their licenses & to submit their certification of accomplishment to the online training courses attended.
Activity 4: GHUB training and hosting opportunities
Based on the GHUB freelancing training output of Basque III and its proven potential in creating job opportunities, generating income and solving the unemployment problem between the ICT Graduates in Gaza. GGateway double the number of GHUB freelancing from 15 to 30.
Gaza C Project (2017-2018)
– A promotional Project by GGateway for Cyber education training opportunities for ICT experts in Gaza implemented by Korean company.
– 500 to be reached, 40 to be trained, 5 to travel to Korea to visit ICT companies.
UNFPA- SYFS Youth Initiatives Program (2017)
– Youth Capacity Building Initiatives: 2 initiatives to build the technical Capacity of 20-25 ICT graduates in ASP.net MVC and PHP Laravel technologies.
– Social Mission and Youth Outreaching Initiative: 3 initiatives that will outreach a group of youth through different methods such as ICT technical workshops, ICT newsletter and marketers community. These initiatives aim to target at least 260 beneficiaries and stakeholders.

– Youth Employment Creation though ICT business Services Initiative
Basque III Project for Building Women Capacity of in work force (2016 – 2017)
– 5 weeks of comprehensive training opportunities for 45 ICT female recent graduate in ICT technical topics and Employability skills .The training followed with job opportunities for at least 50% of the trainees.
– 4 weeks of freelancing and employability training opportunities for 15 recent ICT female graduates. The training followed with 3 months hosting inside GHub in GGateway.
Basque IV Project for Building Women Capacity of in work force (Oct 2017 – Oct 2018)
– Forming standard 2-month Building Capacity Employability Curriculum for GGateway Outsourcing Services along with the needed resources.
– Forming standard 3-weeks Building Capacity Curriculum for GGateway Freelancing Services.
– Establishing GGateway Building Capacity Lab and Resources
– 30 newly ICT graduated refugees women received total of two months Building Capacity Program using the new curriculum and resources to be qualified for service delivery.
– 7 female ICT graduates are employed by GG and received on job training
– 30 female with professional ICT Skill will have3-weeks freelancing training.
– 30 female ICT freelancers are hosted in GGateway for three months and at least has one remote employment paid opportunity
Youth Empowerment through Online Freelancing and Remote Employment in Gaza Project (2017-2018)
– 4 weeks training as TOT in freelancing for 15 ICT professional freelancers.
– 300 training opportunity for Youth ICT graduates. (Duration May – Aug 2017)
– 100 hosting opportunity for 3 months for ICT freelancers who attend the training, this hosting include support such as mentoring and coaching
